About Us
What is Mamie Marianne Story?
Mamie Marianne was born in 2022 from a love of real, high-quality tea. It started on the French Riviera, inspired by the region’s sun and flavors. In 2025 we moved to Italy when we had the chance to purchase some fields to grow our own herbs, like lavender. Moving production closer to the source was an obvious choice for us.
We’re a family-owned business with a simple mission: whole-leaf teas, nothing artificial, and exceptional quality at a fair price. Every cup reflects care, craftsmanship, and the joy of authentic tea and herbal tea.
What makes Mamie Marianne tea different?
We use only whole leaves, carefully selected for purity and natural goodness… No crushed dust or leftovers - just authentic, great tea and herbs. You can see the quality, long before the first sip.
Can we visit you?
Absolutely! Our Tenuta is located in beautiful Romagna, Italy, and we’d love to welcome you. You can tour our fields, enjoy a tasting of our teas, and even stay overnight. For more details, click here.
Where is Mamie Marianne made?
All our teas and tea bags are carefully packed in our own facility in Italy.
Do you outsource production?
Not at all! All our teas and tea bags are carefully packed in our own facility in Italy. On top of that, most of our herbal teas are grown right in our own fields in Italy.
Why is your tea so affordable compared to other premium brands?
Great question! We’re on a mission to show that top-quality tea doesn’t need to come with a premium price tag. By doing all our packaging in-house, and even growing some of our own herbal ingredients, like lavender, we keep costs down without compromising on quality. That means you get the same exquisite teas from around the world at supermarket prices, exceptional taste. Quality for everyone? We’re proving it’s possible!

How should I brew my tea and herbal tea?
Every tea has its own little secrets — the perfect temperature and steeping time make all the difference. Check the instructions on the packaging, follow them, and you’ll never burn your tea. Just sit back, sip, and enjoy it at its very best.
Is a dark or bitter tea a sign of quality?
Quite the opposite. Exceptional teas unfold slowly, like a story in every steep. When tea turns dark too fast or tastes bitter, it’s often a sign of broken leaves or lower-grade blends. True quality is harmony: bright, smooth, and balanced from the first sip to the last.
Should I add sugar or honey?
It depends on the tea and on your taste:
- Classics: For tea lovers — enjoy them just as they are, or add a little sweetness if you like.
- Signature Blends: Fruity and vibrant — a touch of honey or sugar can really enhance their flavor.
- Herbal Teas: Gentle and soothing — enjoy them as they are, naturally caffeine-free and full of goodness.
Can I infuse your teas with cold water?
Our teas and herbal blends are meant to be brewed with hot water — that’s how they naturally release all their flavor, aroma, and beneficial properties. But if you love a refreshing twist, you can brew them hot and then add ice cubes (and a touch of honey or sugar) to make a perfectly chilled, delicious drink. Hot first, chill later — the best of both worlds!
Where does your tea come from?
Our teas are carefully handpicked from the finest farms in China, where some of the world’s best-quality teas are grown. Gyokuro comes from Japan, celebrated for its delicate, refined flavor. As for our herbal teas, many of the stars, including most of our mint and all of our lavender, are grown and lovingly dried in our own fields in Italy. From world-renowned tea gardens to our local fields, every ingredient is chosen for its quality and character.
Do your herbal teas contain flavoring?
Nope! Our herbal teas are made from real, carefully selected plants. No artificial flavors, no additives.
Tea bags / Sustainability
Are your tea bags environmentally friendly?
Our tea bags are fully compostable made from renewable plants like corn and sugarcane — never plastic. The string and tag are also biodegradable, and every bag is heat-sealed without glue, so your tea stays pure and planet friendly.
Can you put the tea bags in the home compost?
Our tea bags are 100% plant-based and plastic-free. Hooray for the planet! They’re made to break down in industrial composting, as they need more heat, moisture, and microorganisms than most home composts can provide. Pop them in your local food waste collection bin, and in about 12 weeks, they’ll turn into natural elements. Teatime for you, happy planet for everyone!
Will the tea bags fully break down?
Absolutely! Our tea bags are fully compostable under industrial composting conditions, just toss them in your local food waste collection. They meet EU EN13432 standards, meaning at least 90% of the material breaks down into water, CO₂, and natural matter within about six months. Good for your cup, great for the planet… sip happy, compost happy!
